Former Bengals CB Terrell Roberts Shot, Killed at Grandmother's House

Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Terrell Roberts was shot and killed on Wednesday evening during a visit to his grandmother's home, CBS affiliate KPIX 5 reports.

The suspect was reportedly described as a bald, bearded black man between 20 and 35 years old and weighing around 250 pounds, wearing a black shirt. Officers found him in the backyard with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Investigators determined the shooting happened in the garage following a disturbance between Roberts and the suspect. Before that, he played college football at Oregon State University.

The 5-foot-10 Roberts saw most of his action in 2001 and 2002 for Oregon State.

The Roberts family told a San Francisco television station that Roberts had not been "mixed up in anything bad".
