Android 10 comes to Google’s Pixel phones

Pixel-4-4

Android 10 brings a number of new ways to improve how you use your device.

The leaks and rumors about Google's forthcoming Pixel 4 smartphone series, which we expect to be unveiled in early October, have been coming at a steady clip lately, with our previous reporting rounding up everything from leaked images to details about the new rear camera setup, as well as the phones' radar-based gestures.

This announcement would come a year on from the Pixel 3 series launch, and we already also know that the Pixel 4 series would be running Android 10 out of the box. So getting stable Android 10 should be easier than ever now that the source code has been released.

Some of the new features of Android 10 have been known since April, but now Google is sharing a broader list of novelties, as well as details about upgradeable devices.

IPhone 11 series specs leaked, all powered by A13 processors
The standard iPhone 11 will come with 4GB RAM, while the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will both come with 6GB RAM. The iPhone 11 will feature a 6.1-inch LCD with a resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels and 326 PPI pixel density.

"Many malware and mobile vulnerabilities are enabled by older versions of Android, and even though Android 10 comes with updated security features, many consumers won't be able to access them because their carrier or device manufacturer will not distribute the updated OS", Bakken noted in an emailed press statement. System updates have always been a pain on Android, but Android 10 supports a feature called Project Mainline. The two-button gesture setup from Android Pie didn't earn many fans, so Google has reworked it in Android 10 to function more like the iPhone.

The source code being released for a new Android version is a big deal. This means other Android phones will soon be able to download the new update too.

Dark mode. Finally! Android 10 has a built-in, system-wide dark theme - flawless for using your phone in low light. Android 10 also brings several long-overdue features to phones, and it promises better update support going forward.
