Fiorentina to sign Liverpool teen Duncan

Bobby Duncan's move from Liverpool to Fiorentina looks as if it will finally happen before Monday's deadline.

Sporting director Michael Edwards calmy continued to negotiate with the Italian outfit despite the very public attack by the player's agent Saif Rubie who accused the Reds of bullying his client.

Liverpool pledged to seek a resolution with Duncan and described Rubie's allegations as "inaccurate" and "inflammatory".

The 18-year-old has got the move to Fiorentina that he wanted but he has left on Liverpool's terms.

Student pilot hailed for landing plane after his instructor passes out
He praised both the student pilot and the tower saying: "I'm telling you, you don't get that cooperation very often". The air traffic operator kept the trainee calm as he talked him through an emergency landing at Jandakot Airport.

That has materialised with the England youth global getting the switch he craved after Fiorentina returned with a permanent proposal, which includes a 20% sell-on clause. Duncan's registered agent is Rob Segal. The boyhood Red, whose cousin is Kop legend Steven Gerrard, enjoyed a prolific campaign with the under-18s, scoring 33 goals and helping Barry Lewtas' side to FA Youth Cup glory - beating, ironically, City in the final in April.

He then featured for the first team in pre-season this summer, gaining minutes in five friendlies and travelling on the tour to the United States.

Duncan wants to leave Liverpool and has been keen to continue his development away from the European champions.

90min understands that Borussia Dortmund have monitored Duncan's situation closely, but it appears they have missed the opportunity to sign him, with Duncan now set to head to Italy before the transfer window closes on Monday night.
