Ryanair sees risk to 2020 growth if 737 MAX grounded beyond November

Boeing reported 239 commercial plane deliveries in the first half of the year, a 37% fall compared to 378 in the same period last year, highlighting the extent to which the crashes have had an impact on its reputation in the market.

The Boeing 737 Max planes have been grounded since mid-March after two fatal crashes that claimed a total of 346 lives. June was the third month running that Boeing booked no new orders of its Max aircraft.

Airbus (OTCPK:EADSY +0.3%) confirms its H1 aircraft deliveries climbed 28% to 389 from 309 in the prior-year period, putting it ahead of Boeing (BA +0.7%) for the first time in eight years.

The company's backlog of unfilled 737 orders, after an accounting adjustment, fell by 10 aircraft to 4,415 from May's results, according to Boeing's website. Just today, Saudi Arabian carrier Flyadeal canceled a $6 billion order for the jet, instead ordered new planes from Airbus.

In April, flydubai said it may consider an Airbus order to replace its Max order. It is already operating 11 A320 jets on domestic destinations across the kingdom. It announced Sunday it will buy up to 50 Airbus A320neo planes, the competing narrowbody model to Boeing's 737 Max, and operate an all-Airbus fleet.

President Trump tweets support for Bernie Marcus
President Donald Trump said in December that he'd withdraw forces from Syria, declaring victory against Islamic State. During the ceremony, Trump brought up Wheeler and other aides to praise their environmental stewardship.

"Boeing are telling us at the moment they expect to be back flying by the end of September", O'Leary said in an interview on the sidelines of a meeting of the European airlines lobby A4E, which he also chairs.

The Flyadeal A320neo will be delivered from 2021 to join the A320ceo now used by Saudi Arabia's airline.

"We remain confident in the 737 MAX's return to service". Boeing halted deliveries of the top-selling plane since it was grounded in mid-March.

Dozens of lawsuits have been filed by families of those aboard the downed planes, and last week Boeing said it will make an initial investment of $100 million over several years to help families and communities affected by the two crashes.

Shares rose $1.92 to $353.04 in afternoon trading.
