German Leader Angela Merkel Seen Shaking for 3rd Time in a Month

German Chancellor Angela Merkel was seen shaking as she met Finland's visiting prime minister

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been seen shaking uncontrollably in public for the third time in a month.

Her aides dismissed the incident as dehydration but Mrs Merkel was once again seen overcome with tremors during an official ceremony at Bellevue Palace - the German President's official residence in Berlin - less than two weeks after the first accident.

At a press conference following talks with Finland's prime minister, Merkel told reporters that she was doing fine after the incident.

"My comments on this are done today, and I think my statement that I am fine can find acceptance", she said.

In November 2016, when announcing that she would seek a fourth term as chancellor, Merkel said: "It is a decision not just for an election campaign but about the next four years. if health allows it".

A week later she suffered a similar bout of trembling during a ceremony at the German presidential residence at Berlin's Tiergarten park.

Mrs Merkel's spokeswoman, Ulrike Demmer, was questioned by German media as to why the government had not provided any information on her health.

Labour confirms it will call for a second referendum - and back Remain
I want to pay tribute to Keir Starmer and the shadow Brexit team for holding the government to account during this process. But how did we get here? His tone contrasted with that of Johnson, his predecessor as foreign secretary.

In the video below, Merkel's whole body can be seen shaking, as she stands outside with Antti Rinnewatching the military honours that marked his arrival.

"Just like how it has come, one day it will go away too", she said.

Merkel's public bouts of shaking have fuelled speculation about her health.

Titled "Merkel", the film will revolve around the German leader and her decision to open Germany's borders to almost a million Syrian refugees in 2015.

She announced previous year that once her term ends in 2021, she will not seek a fifth term, nor will she pursue any other political job thereafter.

Reuters reported that if Merkel became "incapacitated, [German President Frank-Walter] Steinmeier would appoint a cabinet minister as acting chancellor until parliament elects a new chancellor". In subsequent days, she appeared to be fine, joking about the incident.

Merkel has loomed large on the European stage since 2005, helping guide the EU through the euro zone crisis and opening Germany's doors to migrants fleeing war in the Middle East in 2015 - a move that still divides the bloc and her country.
