Federer relishing long-awaited Nadal Wimbledon showdown

Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Brad Gilbert, Chris McKendry and Jason Goodall look ahead to the men's semifinals at Wimbledon, which include the first meeting between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the All England Club since their championship match in 2008.

The potential match-up would be their 40th, but only the first at the All England Club since the famous 2008 men's singles final, when Nadal overcame Federer in an epic five-set encounter.

Rafael Nadal cantered to a victory over Sam Querrey to book a spot in the Wimbledon 2019 semifinals, but also had the time to shift focus to football and give his thoughts on Real Madrid's latest obsession - Paul Pogba.

Considering Berrettini won a title on grass in Stuttgart, Germany, last month, his implosion against Federer was a timely reminder if ever one was needed that the Swiss is peaking at the right time yet again.

"I always try to set my form so I can play my best at this tournament", Djokovic said in the post-match press conference.

Djokovic, eyeing a fifth trophy at Wimbledon and 16th overall at Slams, used a 10-game run to transform what was shaping up as an even, entertaining quarterfinal into a 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 romp against 21st-seeded David Goffin. "Kei was the better player", Federer said.

Bautista Agut, a first-time Grand Slam semifinalist, was supposed to be on the island of Ibiza right now, having a bachelor party with his friends before his November wedding.

"I knew I had a good opportunity to play in the semi-final and I did very well", added the 23rd seed.

National Basketball Association to implement coach's challenge system for 2019-20 season
Lots of the talk Tuesday focused on how those outcomes came about, and whether the rules served all of the constituents. If a team requests a challenge without a timeout, a technical foul will be called, and the play will not be reviewed.

"I think so. I think they will fly on Friday", said Bautista Agut.

What an afternoon we could be in for unless, as you'd imagine will happen, Djokovic smashes his way to a quick three-set win in time to get home and watch Neighbours, if it's still on TV.

"I felt like I managed to dismantle his game", said the Serb.

"No, no", a smiling Nadal said when asked if he was expecting new things from Federer this time around.

"I think it's going to be tough", Federer said. Federer's first Wimbledon title came two years later. Federer is the first player to win 100 matches at one Grand Slam tournament.

The world number seven fended off a break point in a long first game of the third set, but Federer's patience paid off when he went a break up at 4-3 with a searing forehand victor.

"I know they haven't played here in a long time. I didn't, for sure". Gofin took only four points on the return in three games and couldn't do anything to impose his shots and move Novak from the comfort zone, suffering three breaks to drift further away from the finish line. Other than that, I've won in straight sets and played really well.
