Bournemouth fans react on Tyrone Mings fee reports

There has been speculation regarding a release clause of around £10million in the centre back's contract however there has been no confirmation as to if this has expired or whether Aston Villa would need to offer a larger amount if they are serious about signing the Egyptian.

Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal with Bournemouth for defender Tyrone Mings.

Speculation about a potential exit increased after the club failed to get promoted to the Premier League last season following a penalty loss to Aston Villa in the playoffs semi-final. He featured on 160 occasions for the Reds and scored 67 goals for them, statistics which no doubt have caught the attention of the Villa hierarchy.

"We're really pleased to have Tyrone back at Aston Villa on a permanent basis", Villa boss Dean Smith said.

Social media users also criticised his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge for looking "pained" and as though she "didn't look thrilled to be there".

Now, the 26-year-old left-back is set to leave the south coast for Villa, in a deal reported to be as much as £26.5million, although some sources have quoted a £20m fee. "Thank you for all your welcoming messages".

Villa have already secured other permanent signings including Anwar El Ghazi from French side Lille and Kortney Huase from Wolverhampton Wanderers after they had successful loan spells with the Birmingham club.

Mings, who made 10 Premier League starts for Bournemouth after joining from Ipswich for £8m in 2015, was keen to join the club.

Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips is another target and the club tested the waters with a £14m bid, but the Yorkshire club informed the Claret and Blue they are seeking twice that amount.
