Trump Unleashes Twitter Tirade Bashing Fox News

VIDEO Fox News Airs Crowded Bar in France Chanting

US President Donald Trump has unexpectedly criticised his favourite cable news network, Fox News, accusing the channel of siding with the Democrats and citing "Fake unsourced New York Times" in their reports.

Firing off two more tweets, the president said: "And the crew of degenerate Comcast (NBC/MSNBC) Trump haters, who do whatever Brian & Steve tell them to do". Watching the Fox weekend anchors "is worse than watching" CNN or NBC, Trump tweeted. "@FoxNews is changing fast, but they forgot the people who got them there!"

It isn't entirely clear what triggered the tirade, but he was back at it again a few hours later, attacking the network for hiring Donna Brazile, a decision that was announced in March.

Trump attempted to tout his administration's environmental record, but Fox News host Shepard Smith interrupted to say those policies have been "widely criticized by environmentalists and academics".

Halep - a former world No. 1 - dispatched of Gauff 6-3, 6-3, advancing to a quarterfinal matchup against Zhang Shuai . According to the Associated Press: Halep broke Gauff five times and took advantage of 29 unforced errors.

Kenneth Cuccinelli, the acting director of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, appeared on "Fox News Sunday" earlier Sunday and asserted that facilities he visited in El Paso, Texas, were being operated safely, though he said the facilities were overcrowded.

He also claimed Fox News was employing more Democrats, rather than Republicans, and complained it was using The New York Times as a source of information.

Trump was particularly annoyed at Fox's coverage when he saw his ties to billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein being played up on the other networks. "If he thinks the "no spin zone" is going to be the no criticism zone, he's right most of the time, but not all of the time". Or might the president find a new news outlet? Fox News has also hosted town halls with some of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.
