Meghan cheers on Serena Williams at Wimbledon

It's an exciting day for the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

In May, Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry welcomed their first child into the world, a lovely son named Archie.

The Duke & Duchess of Sussex had moved the date of Archie's christening from Friday to Saturday after realising that both The Queen and the Prince of Wales both had engagements.

Meghan's mother Doria Ragland is expected to attend.

"Sometimes I think Meghan is possibly surrounding herself with Hollywood PRs or Hollywood agents and it is slightly different in the Royal Family, so that could cause a problem in the future, but out there in public, they don't seem to mind".

When a baby or child is christened, they are said to become a part of God's family and parents promise to bring the child up in the Christian faith.

"There is huge support for the couple in not wanting to conform to tradition", a senior staff member from Buckingham told The Daily Mail.

That's why when Meghan attended with her sister-in-law Kate previous year, she wasn't able to wear her hat on her head.

There is a feeling amongst some that they should have been more accommodating about the date.

The Queen was also scheduled to be in Scotland for her annual Holyrood Week.

There has been criticism of the decision not to reveal who will be Archie's godparents and speculation is rife Meghan's best friend, the Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, will be chosen while Harry's old schoolmates, brothers Thomas and Charlie van Straubenzee, could be picked. Or have they made the right decision?

When the duchess was spotted at Wimbledon on Thursday with two close friends from her university days, Genevieve Hillis and Lindsay Roth, it was interpreted by royal watchers as hinting at possible godparents.

The Sussexes have once again turned to fashion photographer Chris Allerton, who took their wedding photographs, to capture the moment on Saturday.

"While this was the best weekend for friends and family coming over from the US, they did just really want to hold the christening as soon as possible, before everyone disappears for the summer", the palace source added, also mentioning that several family meetings occurred before the decision was made to hold the christening on Saturday.
