Find out why Serena Williams won't be at Archie Harrison's christening

Meghan watched Serena Williams at Wimbledon

LONDON: Britain's Meghan turned up at Wimbledon on Thursday to lend some royal support her friend Serena Williams, who ruled herself out as a godparent to the duchess's son Archie.

That's why when Meghan attended with her sister-in-law Kate past year, she wasn't able to wear her hat on her head.

Meghan, 37, looked effortlessly chic in her striped blazer by L'Agence with a simple black T-shirt and blue jeans.

According to the Daily Mail, Williams paid a visit to Frogmore Cottage recently, where the Meghan and Harry, Duke of Cambridge reside, along with her husband Alexis Ohanian and one-year-old daughter Olympia.

Both Meghan and Kate watched the Wimbledon women's final that year, which Serena lost in straight sets.

Despite their wishes, it's possible the names of the godparents could emerge in due course. Meghan and Hary also moved away from the Palace for the sake of baby Archie.

It's believed that none of Harry and Meghan's high profile friends have been chosen.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony on Saturday 6th July.

The duchess was flanked by two friends from her university days as she took her spot among spectators on the 12,000-seater court.

In 2017, she shared in a BBC One documentary on Wimbledon that tennis was a huge part of her life growing up and that watching the famed tournament made her want to become a tennis star.

Meghan has made it very clear she wants to return to work as soon as possible.

One said: "Meghan Markle is her bad luck charm".
