Simon grinds down Medvedev to reach Queen's final

Feliciano Lopez of Spain celebrates after defeating Gilles Simon of France 6-2/6-7/7-6 in their men's singles final match at the Queens Club tennis

Lopez then reached the last four by winning a final set tiebreak against sixth seed and big server Milos Raonic, before coming from a set down for the third time to beat eighth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and reach his first tour final since he won the title two year ago.

"It was a good match. I felt very relaxed at the beginning of the week and was getting more nervous as the week went on and my competitive instincts kicked in", said Murray.

The Briton underwent major hip surgery shortly after but responded well and returned to tennis at Queen's ahead of next month's grand slam at Wimbledon.

Spanish veteran Feliciano Lopez won the Queen's Club grasscourt title for the second time in three editions as he outlasted Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-2 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (7-2) in an absorbing and high-quality final.

"I'm exhausted, of course", said the 38th-ranked Frenchman.

Murray will now move on to Eastbourne before playing at Wimbledon where he will be partnered by Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

A tense first set saw Murray and Lopez save two set points - one when trailing 5-4 and another in the tiebreak - before clinching the opener 7-6 (6).

While Lopez has had a tiring week - he still has to play the doubles final with Andy Murray - Simon also played inspired tennis despite all his matches going to three sets.

Murray and Lopez, whose dream run started when they knocked out top seeds Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal earlier in the week, stayed on court to immediately begin their semifinal against third seeds John Peers and Henri Kontinen.

Love Island viewers divided over Yewande and Danny
The new trailer for tonight's episode has revealed that she and Yewande go head to head to win Danny over. In the Beach Hut, she says "Curtis gave supermodel Arabella a ten because it was a great connection".

This match provides an interesting clash of styles, with the Spaniard certainly being more suited to grass.

"I'm learning a lot of things from him, no?"

'What was I doing' Lopez - who Murray may regret overlooking as his doubles partner for Wimbledon - earned a pat on the back from Murray.

In his first tournament back after hip surgery, crowds were simply pleased to see Murray back on the court - let alone playing well enough to reach the final.

A couple of sweet Lopez volleys put the duo 8-4 ahead and Lope crunched a forehand victor to bring up match points.

"It's tough right now after such an awesome effort to try and stay in this match and come back".

Murray's serve in the following game came under pressure, but he showed great agility and touch to race to the ball and stroke it down the line, earning a grin from Lopez. But Simon refused to go away quietly, earning the mini-break back at 4/3 with a backhand passing shot victor.

The win carried major significance for Murray, who broke down in tears at January's Australian Open when revealing he may never play tennis again.
