Apex Legends Season 2 Includes Ranked Mode, New Weapon, New Legend Wattson

The final montage video for Apex Legends gave a quick glimpse of a giant eyeball that's teased as a "big thing" coming to Kings Canyon in Apex Legends season 2. In addition, standing near interception pylons will boost the recharge rate of Wattson's tactical ability. But we can expect to see her some time on or after July 2, which is the start date for season two. This fully automatic doesn't use ammunition picked up from the ground and is only found in care packages; that's because it's "so OP". The new L-Star plasma weapon is also coming from Titanfall. Wattson's passive ability allows her to get an ultimate charge to 100 percent using Ultimate Accelerants and repeatedly spam them.

The centerpiece of the new season is the introduction of Wattson, a young technology prodigy. If any enemies pass through the fence, it'll ping your team of their location.

The new battlepass for the next season is also getting revamped based on feedback the devs got for Season 1 Battlepass, since EA feels the response was underwhelming for Season 1, as explained during the EA Play presentation on Saturday.

Apex Legends is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin. Players will also earn enough crafting materials at level 100 to craft your very own legendary weapon.

Players will meet Cal on Bracca, a brand-new Star Wars planet and one of several new locations introduced in the game. It begins on Kashyyyk under the heel of the Empire's boot, with Kal looking to restart the Jedi Order.

Lastly, Season 2 will debut Ranked play, a new competitive option that'll match players by skill as they attempt to climb individual tiers. The character's lore is that she and her father actually have a deep history with the arena and its formation.

What do you think of all of the changes coming to Apex Legends next season?

Apex Legends is free-to-play with the option to purchase the Battle Pass for additional enjoyment and cosmetics. It has six tiers starting from Bronze and going up to Apex Predator. It'll offer new Legendary items, make it easier to level up, and introduce weekly and monthly challenges to reward players with experience and other cool rewards.
