Man arrested in Newcastle after throwing milkshake at Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage speaks during a Brexit Party rally at Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green in Surrey

Paul Crowther has been identified as the 32-year-old man who threw a milkshake at British politician Nigel Farage on Monday.

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has had a milkshake thrown at him during a walkabout in Newcastle city center, leaving the Euroskeptic MEP angry with his security officials for not preventing the attack.

The bystander then takes the lid off the milkshake container and hurls its contents at the former UK Independence Party leader.

Video showed Farage chastising his security staff for completely botching their jobs.

"You could have spotted that a mile away".

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and remains in police custody". Specifically, it was a Five Guys banana and salted caramel milkshake. The notoriety of the milkshake protest has not been lost on marketers either, with Burger King taking to Twitter to make sure people knew they were still serving the dairy beverage even if McDonald's was not.

Kompany wrote: "Not so long ago, I took a call from RSC Anderlecht ". He also won two FA Cups and four League Cups with the club. Man City play the football I want to play.

Sky News picked up on how Crowther has stood by his actions after being charged with common assault, saying "the bile and the racism he spouts out in this country is far more damaging than a bit of milkshake to his front".

"Sadly some remainers have become radicalised, to the extent that normal campaigning is becoming impossible", he wrote. "For a civilised democracy to work you need the losers' consent, politicians not accepting the referendum result have led us to this".

The Brexit Party leader was in the North East ahead of the upcoming European elections. This weird movement of pelting right-wingers with milkshakes went viral earlier this month when a video showed Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (Tommy Robinson) get dunked by a McDonald's milkshake at a campaign event.

It's not the only foodstuff that has been tossed at United Kingdom politicians over the years.

Last week, police apparently ordered a McDonald's outlet near a Brexit Party campaign rally to stop selling milkshakes and ice cream, according to the restaurant's staff. Burger King later sent a follow-up tweet, staying: "We'd never endorse violence - or wasting our delicious milkshakes!"
