Window cleaners rescued from skyscraper after ordeal in out-of-control lift

Video shows the moment the basket-like platform started swinging wildly, smashing panes of glass on a building owned by Devon Energy.

Two window washers have been rescued from a dangling scaffold above the roof of a almost 850-foot (259 meters) skyscraper in downtown Oklahoma City.

Several windows of the building were broken as the scaffold swung around.

Macy said firefighters secured the scaffold with ropes as it dangled from a crane, 20-30 feet above the roof.

Crews responded to the Devon Tower shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
