Gregg Popovich could not believe Spurs didn't foul

Regardless of Game 7 outcome Denver Nuggets’ window is wide open

Win or go home - that's the situation the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs found themselves in on Sunday.

The San Antonio Spurs had a brainfart at the end of their Game 7 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, which left Gregg Popovich in complete disbelief.

It wasn't pretty, but by holding on to win, 90-86, the Nuggets earned the right to host the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Nuggets inbounded the ball - it was a four point game, it's important to stress this - with 25 seconds left.

Popovich, in typical Popovich fashion, didn't have a lot to say about the game's final seconds.

As they prepare for their second-round series, the Nuggets will see a challenge to their defense. If it's a seven-game series, we'll play four of them at home and the final one would be at home - that's what we look at.

With the Spurs down five in the fourth quarter, DeMar DeRozan split a pair of free throws. "So I was just trying to go out there and play my best basketball possible".

The Nuggets held on after a freaky sequence that saw the Spurs fail to foul in the game's final seconds, allowing Denver to run out the clock.

Against spinners this season, Rohit Sharma averages 9.80 and has been dismissed on 5 occasions. I can't thank Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni enough to have kept faith in me.

But, on Saturday, their young roster were the ones that showed a veteran's poise in the series-deciding Game 7.

But then Nuggets guard Jamal Murray rose up and sank a handsome rainbow jumper.

"It was really simple", Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. The 24-year-old averaged 23.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game while posting a triple-double in Game 7 - the only player in National Basketball Association history along with Magic Johnson and LeBron James to produce multiple triple-doubles in their first career playoffs.

It was a forgettable first half for the Spurs, who trailed 47-34 after shooting 22.2% from the floor.

Rudy Gay had 21 points for San Antonio, while DeRozan and Bryn Forbes each added 19.

The Raptors led by as many as 19 points and took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter. As a result, the Nuggets were eventually able to stretch their lead out to 17-points, 67-50, with 4:14 left in the third.

The 7-foot center did it again in Game 1 versus the Blazers as he produced 37 points on an effective 11-of-18 from the field and a ideal 12-of-12 from the free-throw line. Jamal Murray missed a three, and then SA didn't even take a timeout OR heave the shot.
