Bruins Ride Momentum From Game 3 To A 2-1 Series Lead

Mirtle A lot went wrong for the Maple Leafs in Game 2. But Nazem Kadri’s foolish play could cost them the series

The Bruins responded on Saturday night and salvaged a split heading into Toronto after losing the series opener and they will look to carry that momentum into Game 3 on Monday night at Scotiabank Arena in enemy territory. Some will argue that Debrusk made knee-to-knee contact with Kadri earlier in the game. Charlie Coyle is starting to get the bounces he wasn't receiving after being traded to Boston, as he scored his second goal of the postseason, while David Krejci nabbed his first goal of Round 1 on Monday. Tuukka Rask stopped 30 shots, while Marchand added an assist.

The Bruins are 5-2 in their last 7 meetings with the Maple Leafs and 15-5 in their last 20 games following a win while the home team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these sides. However, in Game 2, the Bruins went back to their game of physicality and skill and displayed way more discipline than the Leafs, specifically forward Nazem Kadri, who crossed the line one too many times, the worst being a cross-check to the face of Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.

Mike Babcock speaks with the media following tonight's game. However, they did call it more like a regular-season game, which worked in the Leafs' favour.

Kadri broke Rask's shutout bid on a deflection at 10:44, but in a moment of madness cross-checked DeBrusk after the Bruins winger hit Patrick Marleau into the curved glass at the end of the bench. "It's obviously not ideal at playoff time, but with the intensity of these games anything can happen".

Nylander, who had just seven goals in 54 games following a contract dispute that stretched into December, scored in Toronto's 4-1 victory in Boston in Game 1.

"It's disappointing for Naz, it's disappointing for our team", Babcock said. "Basically let them know how we're going to play". However, a player that could receive six or more games is offered an in-person hearing with the DPOS.

This Is the Future: SpaceX successfully sends Saudi satellite into orbit
SpaceX's reusable designs make the Falcon Heavy an appealing way to get large payloads into space. The launch took place from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center this evening.

Barely a year ago, the centre sat out three games of the Leafs' series against Boston after charging into an already down Tommy Wingels.

For those who fear the loss of Nazem Kadri puts the series in jeopardy, remember that Kadri was suspended previous year in Game 1, and a team without John Tavares at centre still managed to keep themselves in the competition without him. The Leafs used their speed, skill and a surprisingly physical game to frazzle the Bruins. With Nazem Kadri out, Ennis was inserted in the lineup and performed with the kind of energy one would expect from a player who was a healthy scratch in the first two games ...

The Leafs played a feisty, determined first period, taking it to the Bruins right out of the gate, then weathering Boston's push-back in the latter half of the period. He plays a valuable third-line role for Toronto.

Especially since those hockey talents make him so valuable that the Maple Leafs cannot afford to lose him when he inevitably does resort to those shenanigans that get him removed from the lineup.

With critics slamming Kadri for being selfish and out of control the last two post-seasons, the Leafs could find some relief by getting rid of his $4.5-million (U.S.) cap hit.
