The Leaked Photo That Got Julian Assange Kicked Out Of The Embassy

Lawyer alleges Ecuador spread lies about Wiki Leaks founder

The lawyer condemned as "outrageous" claims made by Ecuador about Assange's behaviour in the embassy, including that he smeared his faeces on the wall, saying: "That's not true".

"We cannot allow our house, the house that opened its doors, to become a centre for spying", Moreno said, in an apparent reference to the leaked pictures.

Lenin Moreno also said that no other country had an influence over the decision to revoke the WikiLeaks founder's asylum, which the leader claimed followed repeated violations by Assange.

A photo of Ecuadorian President Lenín Moreno lounging in bed with a giant platter of lobster in front of him may have spurred Julian Assange's eviction from the country's London embassy.

Mr Moreno, who became president in 2017, said his nation's previous government provided facilities within the embassy "to interfere in processes of other states".

"The key issue at the moment is United States extradition, which we have warned about for many years".

In an interview with The Guardian, Moreno said Assange's actions "violate asylum conditions" and the country's decision to evict him was "not abitrary but based on worldwide law". "Our decision is not arbitrary but is based on worldwide law".

How Mueller's hunt for a Russia-Trump conspiracy came up short
Since the release of Barr's summary, Trump has claimed "total exoneration, no collusion, no obstruction". But how much of the report is made public is an open question.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange arrives at the Westminster Magistrates Court after he was arrested in London on April 11.

But his lawyer, Jennifer Robinson, disputed the allegations when she appeared on Sky's On Sunday.

"I think the first thing to say is Ecuador has been making some pretty outrageous allegations over the past few days to justify what was an unlawful and extraordinary act in allowing British police to come inside an embassy", Robinson said.

"It's appalling, frankly, the way in which he's been treated and I'm really disappointed in the Ecuadorian authorities for removing the asylum..."

The US indictment charges Assange with "conspiracy", alleging that he worked with former US Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to crack a password stored on Department of Defence computers in March 2010.

The United States also is seeking his extradition after charging him with conspiring to break into a Pentagon computer system, which could lead to competing extradition demands.

Assange is being held in custody at Belmarsh Prison in southeast London, awaiting sentencing in Britain for skipping bail to avoid being sent to Sweden as part of an investigation of a rape allegation. More than 70 British legislators have urged Javid to give priority to a case involving rape allegations ahead of the USA request.
