GoFundMe for boy injured at Mall of America raises over $400,000

A witness Friday at the mall told WCCO that the child's mother was screaming that someone had thrown her child from the balcony.

In addition to the GoFundMe, the 5-year-old's pastor spoke to FOX 9 about the family and what they mean to the church.

His GoFundMe page had raised more than US$500,000 (NZ$738,334).

In 2015, Aranda ignored an order to stay away from the mall and was arrested after panhandling and harassing two female diners, a criminal complaint said.

Aranda was arrested on July 4, 2015, after police said he matched the description of a man throwing things off the upper level of the Mall of America to the lower level, court records show.

The boy was taken to Children's Hospital Minneapolis with serious injuries. "I think we're just asking for your thoughts and prayers for that child to recover". "Oh my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge,"' Brian Johnson told WCCO.

Witnesses told law enforcement that they saw Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, of Bloomington, Minn., shove or hurl the young child from the third interior level on the Bloomington Mall side to its first on Friday morning.

Potts said he couldn't give an update on the boy's status, except to say that he's being cared for at the hospital and that his parents are with him.

Sanders: Sending migrants to sanctuary cities not top choice
Some of these cities have robust networks of non-profit legal groups that could help them strengthen their legal cases to stay. White House senior adviser Stephen Miller urged senior DHS officials to make the plan a reality, the source said.

"The child did suffer significant injuries", said the police chief, according to CNN. He said the suspect was located at the transit station just outside of the Mall of America.

'This was a senseless act and words can not truly express our profound shock and sadness, ' the Mall of America said in a statement on Friday. Our immediate and only concern is for the wellbeing of the family and the child, as well as for any individuals who may have witnessed the incident.

"We have counselling services available for anyone who may need assistance". He had also swept his hand across a display table at the beauty store Bare Minerals, breaking lip gloss containers and shot glasses, police said.

Court records obtained by PEOPLE show that Aranda was convicted of fifth-degree assault and interfering with an officer of the peace, and was ordered not to return to the property for one year.

Police are still investigating what the motive was as well.

He was accused three months later of throwing glasses of ice water and tea at a woman in a restaurant at the mall after she refused to buy him food, the records show.

Aranda's previous ban from the mall was not in effect at the time of the incident.
