Valve launches Steam Link Anywhere into beta

Stream your PC games from anywhere

PCs, Macs and Linux computers running Steam can now connect to Steam Link devices over the wider internet, instead of being limited to a local network. It supports the Steam Controller over Bluetooth, as well as other Bluetooth controllers, mice, and keyboards. You could only stream games on your local home network, which sort of defeated the objective of having it on your smartphone.

Steam Link Anywhere promises a more versatile experience, one that you can take with you. well, anywhere, and doesn't require additional hardware.

Aside from the main PC and a compatible device - both of which have the software installed - Valve says the only things gamers need are a "good upload speed" and a "good network connection" for the Steam Link device. That opens up the possibilities for streaming PC-quality games to just about any device from anywhere a good connection can be found. Although some workarounds are required to get it working properly, even a Chromebook could feasibly be used to play the games. Plus, we're expecting news about Apple's all-you-can-eat game subscription service on March 25.

World shocked amid right-wing terror attacks on mosques
Imran Khan, Pakistan's prime minister, also expressed his condolences and said he was alarmed by the further rise of Islamophobia. A fourth person was apprehended but later released after it was determined to be an armed bystander trying to help authorities.

Part of this is better development tools, but more importantly, Valve are letting developers route network traffic through Steam's own infrastructure now.

Steam Link allows you to play on your phone, tablet, or TV for free using an app from Google Play.

Now, you should be able to connect to your PC that hosts your Steam library through your Android app. That latter part's just physics. But if streaming is indeed the future, Valve's early investments continue to pay massive dividends all these years later.
