Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill linked to domestic battery case involving juvenile

Tyreek Hill Chiefs Antonio Brown

The Chiefs are investigating an incident in which star receiver Tyreek Hill was involved in a domestic battery episode in suburban Kansas City earlier this week.

According to the report from The Star, which cites a source close to Hill's fiancee, the incident involves the couple's son and resulted in the child sustaining a broken arm.

"The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill", a team spokesman said in a statement to HuffPost on Friday. Both Hill and Espinal were named, but that investigation was closed within three days of opening.

Chiefs spokesman Ted Crews said Friday the team has been in contact with local authorities and the National Football League as it gathers more information but declined further comment.

The report is dated Thursday but it's unclear when the alleged incident took place. "We'll have no further comment at this time".

This is a very serious allegation especially given Hill's history of domestic violence.

Former Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to join Chicago Bears
Clinton-Dix, a first-round pick of the Packers in 2014, was traded to the Washington Redskins at the trade deadline last season. Over four and a half seasons with the Packers, Clinton-Dix tallied 390 tackles, 14 interceptions and 5.5 sacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs said Friday they are aware of the investigation. The domestic violence conviction was dismissed and expunged from his record a year ago after he completed his probation requirements.

In 2016, during his probation, Hill signed a four-year $2,586,220 contract with the Chiefs.

Hill, 25, was arrested in December 2014 for punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal, who is now Hill's fiancee and is pregnant with twins, per the Star. Hill was also ordered to complete a 52-week batterer's intervention program and an anger management course.

According to multiple reports, the team was preparing to make the star wide receiver one of the highest-paid players in the game.

The conviction was dismissed in August and expunged from his record after he finished probation.
