Tim Tebow among Mets' spring training cuts, will start season in Triple-A

Tim Tebow was part of Tuesday's roster cuts by the Mets and will start 2019 in Triple-A Syracuse. File

On Tuesday morning, the Mets announced they've optioned right-handed relievers Paul Sewald and Jacob Rhame to minor league camp.

The Heisman Trophy victor is expected to begin the season with Triple-A Syracuse.

The New York Mets will finish spring training with a workout inside Syracuse University's Carrier Dome.

Tebow says he has never been to Syracuse.

Tebow, 31, is ticketed for Triple-A this season.

Virgil van Dijk's Statistics From Bayern Munich Game Are Unbelievable
We found that and that makes me feel really proud and happy. "We were playing too deep, we didn't take risks, I don't know why". More new signings are expected, but the new arrivals will have little time to adjust to get Bayern back to where it wants to be.

"Yeah, I think I will".

In typical Tebow fashion, he took the demotion as a learning experience and with a bunch of optimism, telling reporters how grateful he was for the time he had to learn from New York's more experienced players and coaches.

The Mets reassigned the outfielder to minor league camp Tuesday, ending the chance that his miracle rise from football to the major leagues will culminate soon. He went 4-for-15 and had an RBI for the Mets in Grapefruit League action. The 31-year-old slashed.273/.336/.399 with six home runs in 84 games, improving his OPS by almost 80 points from his first minor league campaign before his season ended in late July with a broken bone in his hand.

And if he joins the Mets at some point this season ...
