Champions League: Neymar under UEFA's investigation

UEFA orders investigation into PSG star Neymar for rant after Man United defeat

Neymar is set to be investigated by UEFA following his comments in the aftermath of Paris Saint-Germain's elimination from the Champions League.

Marcus Rashford scored the injury time spot kick after the VAR spotted a handball but Neymar who watched from the stands vented his anger on social media.

'And they still let four guys that do not understand football look at the slow motion video, this doesn't happen!

It is unknown what punishment would be considered for Neymar should he be found to have broken UEFA rules, but any enforced absence may not overly trouble the Parisian outfit, who now lead Ligue 1 by 17 points with 11 games to play in the 2018/19 domestic season. "Go f- yourselves!" Neymar wrote on Instagram.

"How do you handball behind your back?"

"A disciplinary investigation has been initiated based on Article 31 (3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations in connection with the statements made by Paris Saint Germain player Neymar Junior following the above-mentioned match", it read.

The club's latest Champions League elimination was their third consecutive defeat at the last-16 stage.

PSG's next fixture is against Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday before a clash against Toulouse on March 31 following the worldwide break.
