Selma Blair has broken her silence on her struggle with multiple sclerosis in her first TV interview since her diagnosis.

In her first interview since the diagnosis six months ago, the 46-year-old shares everything from the pain and suffering she went through before being diagnosed to how she stays positive and inspired in her day-to-day life.

"I was ashamed and I was doing the best I could and I was a great mother, but it was killing me", she said. "If I'm not and I can still have a conversation, that's good enough".

Manchester City replaces Nike with Puma in kit deal
We want him to extend the contract right now. "If he 100 per cent (wanted to stay), the deal would be done". He's working with that and the truth is that we could use him for a few games.

"Ever since my son was born, I was in an MS flare-up and didn't know, and I was giving it everything to seem normal". "I was self-medicating". "I started drinking because of the pain, one, of him not being with me, and two, my physical pain was so extreme that I would drink by myself".

'[At first], I was not taken seriously by doctors. But the disease was not formally diagnosed until August. However, things changed once she received her diagnosis. "Last night, she stood on the world stage for the first time since being diagnosed with MS". "They were tears of knowing I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control, and there was some relief in that". "She is facing this diagnosis the way she faces everything - with dignity, grace and head on".

Selma Blair arrives at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday. But this is not the doctor telling me I'm dying.' And he was like, 'Oh. "It's been wonderful to watch her be more settled, more content, and nearly more in control of herself in a weird way".

"She really is sharing something so vulnerable, and so scary", Jenner said. "I love you so dearly", she wrote.

"I cried. I had tears". And later this week, she is taking an even bigger step, and speaking publicly on @goodmorningamerica (with, my girl crush @robinrobertsgma ) To say I'm proud, would be a gross understatement. "I have patients with M.S. who are surgeons, actors, a commercial-airline pilot, sports figures, successful lawyers - they don't want anyone to know about their illness because they feel it could hurt their career". The debilitating disease affects 2.3 million people worldwide.
