Mickelson, Casey book Monday PGA finish

Phil Mickelson leads the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by three shots with two holes to play after the final round was suspended because of fading light.

The final round Sunday had been delayed at the start by one hour because of rain, and then sunshine quickly gave way to hail that covered the greens in a sheet of white and led to a two-hour delay.

Overnight leader Casey had a three-shot advantage over Mickelson at the start of the day, but the five-time major victor made up the deficit with three birdies in the front nine and three more after the turn.

"I get exactly where Paul's coming from", Mickelson said.

"So at the end of a year ago, even though I played poorly, I had something happen where it seemed like overnight - it had really been in the works - where my driver speed shot up 5, 6 miles an hour, which rarely ever happens to anybody, let alone somebody in their late 40s", he said.

Casey chose to stop ahead of his putt on 16 on Sunday, even as Mickelson pushed to start the par-3 17th hole.

Mickelson, who could join Mark O'Meara as the only five-time winners of the tournament, is no stranger to the fickle February weather on the Monterey Peninsula.

Australia to reopen Christmas Island detention centre
The legislation will now go to the Governor-General for royal assent to become law, but the timeframe for this remains unclear. The government of prime minister Arthur Fadden lost a symbolic budget vote in 1941 and immediately resigned.

Those two will still be rivals when they reach the seniors circuit and I think there's an element of "I'll show you I can still do it" about Mickelson's own recent good form.

Casey has a four-foot putt to save par on the 16th green when play resumes at 8am (4pm GMT) on Monday, while Stallings holds the clubhouse lead on 15 under after a six-under 66. "Sometimes I get in my little bubble and don't see the bigger picture".

Mickelson and Casey were unable to tee off on the par-3 17th due to darkness and will return on Monday morning.

His brilliant play still shared the stage with weather that was freakish even by Pebble standards.

Phil Mickelson has won the weather-affected AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am and [1000.0] shot, David Law, has won the ISPS Handa Vic Open.

"I'm looking forward to getting back at it at Bay Hill", Day said. It also moved him up 12 spots in the world rankings to No. 17 - one spot higher than he reached with last year's win at the WGC-Mexico Championship and his best world ranking since he was 16th in November 2016. Scott Piercy had a 15-foot putt that was slightly uphill, and he still ran it 7 feet by the hole and three-putted for bogey. Jason Day (68) and Kim Si-woo (68) were two strokes further back on 13-under 274.
