Woman throws chair off Toronto balcony, police investigating

The Toronto Police Service's cybercrime unit is looking into a video that surfaced online showing a woman throwing a chair off of her condo balcony and onto the Gardiner Expressway.

By Tuesday afternoon, police said they had made contact with "either the perpetrator herself or her representative" and are working on a plan to have her surrender herself.

At this point there is no time frame for the woman to get representation and present herself to police.

The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, February 9 at 10 am, when a woman threw a chair and other items off of a balcony located on a very high floor.

"When you look at this video, anybody would look at it and think this is very, very risky".

The woman who threw the chair - along with other items - is wanted for mischief endanger life.

On Monday, police released a photo of the woman, who they say appears to be in her 20s.

While the video ends before the chair his the ground, investigators said it landed at the front entrance of another condo building in the area.

In the video, which was originally posted to Snapchat, the woman can be seen gleefully tossing a chair from a high-rise balcony onto the highway below.

Police have described the incident as "outrageous".
