The 26-year-old, real name Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, has "won his freedom", a statement released on Tuesday said.

In an emailed statement, lawyers Kuck, Dina LaPolt and Alex Spiro said they've been speaking with ICE since his arrest to "clarify his actual legal standing, his eligibility for bond, and provide evidence of his extraordinary contributions to his community and society".

The rapper, who was arrested by ICE agents in Atlanta over Super Bowl weekend, has been released on bond pending a deportation hearing, reports TMZ.

21 Savage was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards for the hit "Rockstar", with Post Malone, including the coveted record of the year category, but was unable to attend the glitzy awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday because he was being held in Georgia. ICE says Abraham-Joseph is unlawfully present in the US and also a convicted felon. And asks for your hearts and minds to be with them'.

Charles H Kuck, his first lawyer later contradicted Ice, saying the arrest was "based upon incorrect information about prior criminal charges", in a statement he made to BuzzFeed News.

21 Savage has lived in Atlanta since 2005, having arrived in the United States at the age of seven. A 2017 application for a U visa - reserved for victims of crimes - is still pending.

In 2013, the rapper was shot six times on his 21st birthday in an attack that took the life of his best friend.
