In the preview, prominent defense attorney Kathleen Zellner has taken on Avery's case amid an outpour of support from fans who tuned in for Season 1.
Two weeks ago Netflix finally announced when the world would get to see the much-anticipated second season of "Making a Murderer", and now we have a new trailer for the global phenomenon documentary series.
'Making A Murderer Part 2' arrives on Netflix on October 19th.
Dassey, who was almost released in 2017 after two courts overturned his conviction only for a third to uphold it, confessed to his and Avery's 2005 killing of Theresa Halbach, though his defense attorneys argued that the admittance was coerced by police.
Filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos remain at the helm and have been granted exclusive access to Avery and Dassey, providing "an in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, exploring the emotional toll the process takes on all involved".
Hurricane Michael expected to strengthen as it approaches Florida
A Hurricane Watch has been issued along the Florida Gulf Coast from the Alabama-Florida border to the Suwanee River. Hurricane Michael continues to strengthen as it heads into the Gulf of Mexico.
The first "Making a Murderer" recounted the story of Steven Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, who were convicted in the 2005 slaying of Wisconsin photographer Teresa Halbach. "The prosecution's case was that Teresa never left the property", Zellner states of the new evidence to be brought into question in Part 2. Avery and Dassey are serving life sentences in that killing.
Avery is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Released almost three years after the show's December 2015 debut, the second season will cover the appeals of Avery and Dassey, re-examining the evidence that prompted a guilty verdict and following attempts to have Dassey's case heard in the supreme court.
Meanwhile, a federal judge overturned Dassey's conviction in August 2016 on the grounds he was coerced into a confession.
