Kanye West to Meet With Trump, Jared Kushner

Donald Trump Kanye West

"It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense", Kardashian West said on Twitter the day after.

The meeting with Kushner is expected to focus on criminal-justice issues, which fall under his purview as a senior adviser to the president.

West, a Chicago native, reportedly also wants to address job opportunities for former convicts.

West, who has been vocal about his support for the president, is expected to meet with President Trump and Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, the White House confirmed on October 9.

As of late, West has drawn ire for his public support of Mr. Trump, most recently after going on a rant following a performance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

Hope Hicks Joins New Fox as Chief Communications Officer
Fox, the media company formed in the wake of 21st Century Fox's sale to the Walt Disney Company, announced the hiring on Monday. A 22-year Fox News veteran and a loyal soldier to the late Roger Ailes , Shine had been with the organization since its launch.

West's wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian has met with Trump twice to plead for release of prisoners and discuss prison reform efforts.

West was blasted by celebrities including Chris Evans and Whoopi Goldberg when he resumed the discussion the next day, tweeting a photo of himself again wearing his red baseball cap and suggested abolishing the 13th Amendment, which outlaws slavery.

It's unclear whether the White House will open West's visit to the press. "Liberals can't bully me, news can't bully me, the hip-hop community, they can't bully me. He's racist", said West. "He's racist.' Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism, I would've moved out of America a long time ago", West said. I'ma break it down to you right now. They bully me. They bullied me backstage.

"Speaking strictly for myself, what Kanye said after we went off the air last week was one of the worst, most awkward things I've ever seen here". And they look at me and say, 'It's not fair.
