New Facebook message hoax spreading

The message is making people believe that their account was hacked and is sending out friend requests without their consent.

"If a friend informs you that he or she has received a second friend request from you, this could indeed be an indication that your account has been cloned".

Have you, like everyone else on Facebook, been encountering an abundance of messages about possible hacks in the past day?

HOAX: If you get this message on Facebook, do not forward.

Facebook did not respond to request for comment by press time, but it has said that the posts could be going viral due to fear.

The spammer does this, hoping your friends accept the requests thinking it's somebody they know.

After City draw, Liverpool's Klopp slams 'senseless' Nations League
One situation and they are alone in front of your goalie, or alone in the box and they shoot and score an easy goal. To his credit, he didn't exactly sulk, but he had a look on his face which told you everything you needed to know.

In fact, Facebook told WSYR-TV that it had seen no uptick in account cloning. I had to do the people individually.

The message warns people their accounts may have been cloned.

"The best thing for users to do is just delete the messages they receive about this, especially if they echo the exact same language used above". Then, the message calls them to forward the message on to their friends.

Facebook has said that this message is false. The copyright hoax is, in part, a meme about what we post to social media, and what those companies do with that information.

And people still do get hacked.

The security bug would let attackers steal "access tokens", which are digital keys that Facebook uses to keep people logged in. Facebook also placed a message at the top of the news feed explaining what happened to the 50 million users whose information was compromised.
