New Poll: Beto O'Rourke leads Cruz in Texas Senate Race

Democrat Beto O’Rourke attacks police as ‘the new Jim Crow’ just days after praising cops

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said during a Friday debate with challenger Beto O'Rourke that there's a possibility he could change his "yes" vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Women are divided as 50 percent back Cruz and 48 percent back O'Rourke.

So why such a big difference in these two polls? A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll gave O'Rourke a slight edge, with 47 percent to Cruz's 45 percent, but that came on the heels of a Quinnipiac University survey that showed Cruz up by nine percentage points.

Frustrated Gary Cahill could leave Chelsea amid lack of game time
The new Blues boss has one conflict to sort out with one players asking to leave Stamford Bridge. It's only a small bump though as the player is yet to play this season.

However national Republicans have become increasingly skittish about the race.

Meanwhile, O'Rourke continued on his campaign trail, speaking about issues afflicting Texans, such as limited access to health care, education, and civil rights violations (including the threat of dismantling Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals-an Obama-era policy that protects migrant individuals who were brought to the United States illegally as minors from deportation). Politico reported Friday that O'Rourke received over $9 million in online contributions in August. The New York Times reported earlier this month that Mick Mulvaney, a top official in the Trump administration, warned a room of top Republican donors this month that Cruz could lose his re-election bid because he's not "likeable" enough. Eastern, 6:00 p.m. Central time.

O'Rourke, a three-term Democratic congressman from El Paso, is giving up his seat to challenge Cruz, who was first elected to the Senate in 2012.
