'Oops!' Airline misspells its own name on plane

Someone unfortunately forgot to include the "F" in the name, leaving it to be read as "Cathay Paciic".

Cathay Pacific had to send a new plane back to the shop for a new paint job after its name was spelled wrong on the fuselage.

Shockingly, the airline was only made aware of the mistake after travellers contacted them after spotting it at Hong Kong International Airport, the BBC reports.

It was unclear whether a Cathay Pacific engineer or someone from Haeco, a sister company of the airline, was to blame, according to the Post. "She's going back to the shop!"

"The spacing is too on-point for a mishap", the engineer said.

Kavanaugh accuser demands FBI investigation before she testifies at hearing next week
Ms Ford's lawyers said yesterday she would not appear before the Senate until after the FBI investigates the allegations. She says that ever since she has spoken about the "truth", she has been receiving death threats and hate online.

Some social media users found the error amusing while others saw it as a sign of declining standards across the airline industry.

The airline claimed it was an honest mistake, but others were left wondering how such a huge error could slip by unchecked.

Cathay Pacific was founded in 1946 and carried some 34.8 million passengers a year ago, along with its subsidiary airline, Cathay Dragon.

"I guess the "F" isn't working on someone's keyboard..." one person wrote, while another said, "Leave it as-is and put a red squiggle underneath".
