Aretha Franklin is reportedly alert, laughing, and talking

Legendary US singer Aretha Franklin

"Aretha Franklin has been the Matriarch of the Franklin family since the passing of all of her siblings", Quinn tells ET. Jackson was originally scheduled to visit Tuesday but later rescheduled for Wednesday.

He also said: "She believes she'll pull through it, and that's the important thing".

After initial reports that Aretha Franklin is seriously ill, a member of the soul singer's family has shared that they remain hopeful regarding her condition. "I'll have more details as I'm allowed to release", Cassimy wrote on Twitter.

Franklin canceled planned concerts earlier this year after she was ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest up.

The news comes as Far Out Magazine reported that news that Franklin is receiving hospice support at her home in Detroit.

"She has always been a very private person and the last thing she wanted was to reveal this hard time in her life with her fans".

Beyoncé and Jay-Z paused their Detroit concert on Monday after the show's opening song "Holy Grail" to pay a small tribute to Franklin.

England Rugby Star Danny Cipriani Pleads Guilty To Assault
Cipriani was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning after the incident in The Royal Yacht Hotel and Spa, St Helier. Gloucester Rugby chief executive Stephen Vaughan described the incident as "very disappointing to be associated with".

"Your music has moved and inspired a generation", he added, "so my prayers are with you".

"Who is not a fan?" Just after the first song she addressed the "Motor City" crowd and said, "This show is dedicated to Aretha Franklin". "She's the best of the best".

The card read: "Book of Love and Healing for Aretha, the Queen".

"We visited and prayed with ‪@ArethaFranklin today", Jackson later tweeted, "Please continue to keep her in your prayers".

Tuva Johannessen, a tourist visiting from Norway, signed Twyman's get-well card.

Franklin was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but spent many of her pre-teen years in Buffalo's Cold Springs neighborhood.

Smith said the conversation made him feel "happy and sad at the same time, because I knew that meant she's recognizing that this long struggle might soon be over".
