9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K Launching Oct. 1

9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K Launching Oct. 1

The chips are from Intel's long-rumored ninth-generation Core processor family, and CPU-Z's latest update practically confirms its existence with potential information discovered about the lineup. They won't be the company's Cannon Lake chips based on the 10nm process as they have been delayed until next year.

Alongside the Core i9-9900K, Intel will reportedly launch the Core i7-9700K as the first eight-core Core i7 mainstream desktop processor with clock speeds ranging from 3.6GHz to 4.9GHz.

Purported Intel documentation referencing and detailing a pair of top-end Intel Core 9000 Series processors has leaked onto the internet.

Fly baby girl, fly: Nasa launches solar probe to examine the sun
During the journey, the spacecraft will fly by Venus at speeds of 4,30,000 miles per hour , the equivalent of flying from NY to Tokyo in one minute.

The Intel Core i9-9900K will have eight cores and 16 threads on October 1, reports Wccftech.

8 cores are what the Core i7 will get as well, granted, with 8 threads, while the Core i5 will feature 6 cores and 6 threads. The Core i9 has a 16MB cache, base clock of 3.6GHz and boost clock up to 5.0 GHz (in single or dual core computing). As Intel is making hyperthreading an i9-only feature, the i7-9700K has eight threads.

All three processors have a TDP of 95W, with the only other key differences being the cache and price. The first ones available will be the most powerful and therefore the most expensive, but they should offer the most credible competition for AMD's Ryzen refresh and potentially help steal a little of the thunder of AMD's monstrous second-generation Threadripper CPUs which are now just days away from release. It would clock in at 3.6 Ghz and could be boosted up to 4.6 Ghz with all cores running or 4.9 Ghz.
