Sevilla Threaten Super Cup Action Against Barcelona

Valverde perfila este once para la Supercopa ante el Sevilla

Spanish club Sevilla have stated that they could withdraw from tonight's Spanish Cup final against Barcelona over an interpretation of the rules surrounding the competition.

A club statement read: "Sevilla FC is surprised by the RFEF [Spanish football federation]'s statement 24 hours before the Super Cup", per the BBC.

According to the rule governing the game in Spain, only three non-EU players are allowed in each La Liga matchday squad. Sevilla are upset about various matters, including: the match being played in Tangier, that it's a one-off match and most recently because of the RFEF confirming there's no limit as to how many non-EU players can be used.

Sevilla qualified for the match as last season's Copa del Rey runners-up, after Barcelona won the league and cup double.

The Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla is a game of particular significance for Leo Messi: if the new Barcelona captain finds himself on the winning side in Tangiers he will become the most successful player in Camp Nou history by lifting a 33 career trophy with the club.

Star Trek 4 will make history as the first-ever installment in the longstanding franchise to be directed by a woman. The studios claim that Star Trek Beyond grossed only $343 million worldwide, after $190 million was spent on it.

Messi replaced the departed Andres Iniesta as Barcelona's first-choice skipper, and is named in a front three alongside Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele for tonight's match in Morocco.

But Barcelona are keen to avoid any clashes with Sevilla and have erred on the side of caution by leaving Malcom out of the squad and have chose to start Arthur, while Coutinho and Vidal have been named as substitutes.

But the club could also call upon defender Marlon (Brazil), taking the total up to four.

Club captain Lionel Messi and forward Luis Suarez already have European Union citizenship, while Brazilian Philippe Coutinho is thought to have obtained a Portuguese passport through his wife, Aine.

"As for the Supercopa not being a professional competition, I do not know what to tell you", he said.
