Congress failed to fulfil household electrification promise by 2009: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed the Congress for not keep its promises on rural electrification during all the years it was in government.

He added that unlike the false promises given by the previous government, the present government has walked the talk of electrifying every village.

During the interaction, Aarti Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir said for the first time we got a Prime Minister who cares for us and electrified our village. They told Modi that earlier, due to no electricity in their village, no one would marry off their daughters there and that they had to travel for kilometres for just getting wheat ground. Interacting with the beneficiaries of Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana and Saubhagya Yojana through video conferencing, Mr Modi said that his government is not only focussed on electrification but has also reformed the distribution systems across the country. "This was quite unfortunate", he said. Then Congress President (Sonia Gandhi) said all households would be electrified by 2009. Needless to say, none of that had happened during their long tenure.

Marvel's 'Iron Fist' to return to Netflix
Raven Metzner , a writer and producer on Falling Skies and Sleepy Hollow , took over from Scott Buck in the role of showrunner. Rand also appeared in Luke Cage Season 2, which didn't necessarily give any plot details away; it was just really cool.

He pointed out that the government has changed the situation in Eastern India which had 14,582non- electrified villages out of 18,000 and out of which 5790 villages were in the North East. "But, I believe, eastern India can play an even bigger role than it does in India's development journey", he said. "Of the 18,000 villages which were deprived of electricity, close to 15,000 villages were from the East, while close to 6,000 belonged to the North East".

PM Modi said when his government came to power in 2014 it noticed that public-sector banks had been plundered.

It is noted that There are around 4 crore un-electrified households in the nation which are targeted for giving electricity connections by December 2018.
