World Emoji Day 2018

World Emoji Day 2018

Instead of unicorns or robots, Apple's new Memoji are meant to look like you.

New food items have also been added, such as Lettuce, Mango, Mooncake and Cupcake.

The top five most-used emojis on Facebook Messenger are, in order, the crying with laughter face, the hearts in eyes face, the blowing a kiss face, the heart emoji and the blushing cheeks face. Emojis can be polarizing, however; some people hate them.

The new emojis include a new list of animals, including a kangaroo, peacock and lobster.

To celebrate this very important holiday, today, Apple announces that 70 new emojis are coming to two of its upcoming operating systems - both iOS 12 and macOS 10.14 Mojave.

World Emoji Day 2018

World Emoji Day is Tuesday, and Apple is getting into the spirit by recasting the photos on its executive team page as emojis.

The new emojis arrive later this year in an iOS update, and include a handful of hairstyles.

In a world where amusing cat videos can garner millions of views online, it should come as no surprise that the most frequently used emoji in the world is the laughing emoji.

The ranking also revealed that emojis expressing positive emotions were the most used globally, with the exception of the crying emoji, which came in sixth. "Honestly, there's nothing better than when someone who might have seemed a bit aloof via email sends an emoji and you can breathe out, knowing we're all just humans after all".
