Toby Alderweireld unsure of Spurs stay after 'unjustified' omission

Tottenham Toby Alderweireld Benjamin Pavard

The Sunday Mirror are suggesting that Spurs are considering their options should Toby Alderweirald leave the club and that Pavard is a player of interest.

Toby Alderweireld admits he was upset with his treatment at Tottenham last season.

Alderweireld has just one year remaining on his contract in north London and is reportedly on a shortlist of defenders wanted by Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Pavard, 22, was one of the stars of the World Cup having edged out Djibril Sidibe to become France's first-choice right back, and he helped his country clinch the World Cup trophy.

The former Ajax and Atletico Madrid player, who was snapped up by Spurs from Southampton after a season on loan in 2014/15, has been an ever present in Mauricio Pochettino's side, but lost his place following a hamstring injury last term.

On his future, Alderweireld said: "I really know nothing".

Kane said: "I will hopefully be back for the first game and hopefully try and score in August this year". Pochettino will have a plan drawn up for all possibilities and it appears as if Pavard could be a genuine option to head to the Premier League this summer.

Despite his Premier League snub, Alderweireld featured in six of Belgium's seven World Cup matches in Russian Federation as manager Roberto Martinez's side secured a historic third-placed finish at the tournament.

"I think (three weeks) is the minimum that their body and soul needs, and which is the minimum for them to return and think about football again". Show that the period before the tournament in which I did not play - for whatever reason - was unjustified.

"I wanted to show that I am still the same Toby as in November".
