Trump visit: London on LOCKDOWN as trip to spark protests

Anger over Trump's visit has already had consequences.

While the many thousands are expected to line the streets and protest against Trump, politicians have become involved too.

Protest organisers say they plan to stage demonstrations in some 50 cities around the UK.

US President Donald Trump (C) and First Lady Melania Trump (R) walk with US Ambassador to the United Kingdom Woody Johnson (L) as they arrive at the US ambassador's residence Winfield House in London on July 12, 2018.

"It appears that President Trump got the message from the many Londoners who love and admire America and Americans but find his policies and actions the polar opposite of our city's values of inclusion, diversity, and tolerance", mayor Khan said in January.

Later, Trump and his wife attended a black-tie dinner hosted by May at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, before returning to Winfield for the night. After this, the two will join the new British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt for talks and a working lunch at the prime ministerial Chequers country retreat. Instead, what had been an state visit was downgraded to a working visit, which means the Queen does not officially host the president and the first lady as she has done with previous US presidents.

In the interview, which took place at the U.S. Embassy in Brussels, the president also lashed out at the Muslim mayor of London, saying he had done "a awful job". Khan refused to block the Trump baby balloon.

Rep. Gohmert's comments about Strzok's infidelity prompt charges of hypocrisy against GOP
On Thursday, Strzok said the message was written late at night after Trump's campaign comments disparaging a slain USA soldier. At one point, Goodlatte told Strzok he could only consult with his own lawyer, not an Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer.

A few hundred people gathered to watch the blimp launch in Parliament Square, with organizers of the stunt wearing red boiler suits and red baseball caps emblazoned with "TRUMP BABYSITTER".

The National Police Chiefs Council, which is responsible for the deployment of police during large-scale events, said demand is "particularly high" this week as forces work together to provide security and police the protests. The balloon, made by protesters, is set to fly this weekend during his stay in London and afterwards will be transported overnight to Scotland to fly at his Turnberry golf estate on Saturday, when he is scheduled to play there.

He also said Boris Johnson would make a "great prime minister".

"It's an opportunity to reach a free trade agreement that creates jobs and growth here in the UK and right across the United States". She wants to offer him a warm welcome besides.

The US President said the PM's plan would "probably kill" a UK-US trade deal. Still, lawmakers have had no qualms about publicly calling Mr. Trump a demagogue and a fool.

After counting down from 10 to 1 a cheer went up as the large balloon rose to fly around 10 meters off the ground, next to parliament and the River Thames. A crowd-funding campaign raised 20,000 pounds ($26,400) to make it a reality.

This peaceful protest has just added fuel to the fire of Trump jokes, as people from all over the world took to Twitter to add their opinion to this slightly ridiculous controversy. "You can't reason with him but you can ridicule him".
