Trump forces North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies to boost defence spending

In a press conference in Brussels on Thursday, Trump said North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members would increase their contribution at a "much faster clip" than scheduled.

Trump himself did not give specific details on when his North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies would fulfill the USA demands and to what amount. "Must pay 2% of GDP IMMEDIATELY, not by 2025". Not to mention, Trump already has a dubious relationship with Russian Federation at a time when much of the world, especially Europe, is concerned about its aggressive military activities.

"I don't think you'll have any 'Gee, I did it, I did it".

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced Friday that the 12 Russian military intelligence officers were charged with hacking into the accounts of the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton's campaign and other party operatives during the 2016 presidential election.

Apart from the USA, only three North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries hit the two-percent target in 2017 - Britain, Greece and Estonia - but four more are expected to clear the threshold this year.

"For years presidents have been coming to these meetings and have talked about the tremendous expense to the United States, and tremendous progress has been made", Mr Trump said.

It was a classic Trump performance - bluster, confrontation and demands followed by a unilateral declaration of victory - but his claim was quickly dismissed by the leaders of Italy and France, who disputed they had made any new pledges for increasing spending.

In light of today's indictments, there should be no one-on-one meeting between President Trump and Vladimir Putin on Monday.

In January a federal court in MA ruled the formula wasn't arbitrary and capricious. The Maryland Insurance Administration has a hearing scheduled for July 31.

At present, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation has 29 members and few have reached this goal - only five North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members are expected to meet the 2% target by the end of the year. Ahead of the trip, Trump predicted his meeting with Putin would be his "easiest" stop on his European tour.

Trump's next stop will be London, where he'll be meeting with Queen Elizabeth II and British Prime Minister Theresa May.

"So I would imagine that's what they will do, but maybe they will take a little bit of a different route".

According to the report, "In 2017, the US accounted for 51.1 percent of NATO's combined GDP and 71.7 percent of its combined defense expenditure".

In the meantime, President Donald Trump has arrived in Great Britain for his first visit as president amid North Atlantic Treaty Organisation tensions, protests and Brexit turmoil.

"You know, the two per cent was a range, a goal, it wasn't something they were committed to". The important thing now is that we need to invest more - we need to get more money.

" I think it is a awful thing that you have a pipeline coming from Russian Federation and I believe that Germany is going to get 56 to 60, or even 70 percent of their energy coming in from Russian Federation".

Following Thursday's emergency session of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members, Trump declared the military alliance to be "very unified, very strong, no problem".
