Rep. Gohmert's comments about Strzok's infidelity prompt charges of hypocrisy against GOP

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok to lawmakers: Anti-Trump texts didn’t “impact any official action”

At one point, Goodlatte told Strzok he could only consult with his own lawyer, not an Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer.

Republicans have cited Page's and Strzok's messages as evidence about what they call bias inside federal law enforcement and that conspirators launched the Russian Federation investigation out of partisan animus.

"Lisa Page has finally agreed to appear before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees for a transcribed interview tomorrow", Goodlatte said in a statement.

"This is the first time I've seen Congress as frustrated with Congress as we are!"

"Every American, every single one, has a political belief", Strzok said, and the vast majority of those don't constitute bias.

House Democrats accused Republicans of using Strzok to undermine special counsel Robert S. Mueller III's investigation.

Strzok was grilled by members of Congress over allegations of apparent anti-Trump bias revealed in a series of text messages he exchanged with ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was having an affair.

Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page will be interviewed by two congressional committees this week, after declining to appear earlier this week.

"He thinks promising to stop someone he is supposed to be fairly investigating from ever becoming president isn't bias", Gowdy said.

Cancer Lawsuit Against Agrochemical Company Monsanto Proceeds to Trial
But serious doubts remain as the World Health Organization in 2015 classified glyphosate as "probably carcinogenic to humans". Johnson's cancer", Lombardi said during his opening statement.

Strzok said under aggressive questioning that a much-discussed August 2016 text in which he vowed "we'll stop" a Trump candidacy followed Trump's denigration of the family of a dead USA service member. "No he won't. We'll stop it".

To which Republican Representative Ted Poe responded: "And I don't believe you".

On Thursday, Strzok said the message was written late at night after Trump's campaign comments disparaging a slain USA soldier.

Plus, he said, both the Clinton and Russian Federation investigations were handled by large teams that "would not tolerate any improper behavior in me anymore than I would tolerate it in them".

The response was met with some applause in the committee room. Strzok said he was not alone in holding political opinions, noting that colleagues in 2016 supported both Clinton and Trump but did not reflect those views on the job. He described the texts as "hate filled and biased". Gowdy said, pointing out the pro-Hillary bias among other members of the investigative team who weren't booted from it.

"This information had the potential to derail and quite possibly defeat Mr. Trump, but the thought of expressing that, or exposing that information never crossed my mind", Efe quoted Mr Strzok as telling to lawmakers during a congressional hearing.

It is point that has been largely brushed aside in Trump-friendly media circles, with a text Strzok sent to Page in May 2017 also receiving comparatively little scrutiny. Right?!" Strzok replied, "No. Goodlatte said he was holding open the prospect of calling Strzok back again because he was unsatisfied with the lack of answers to some questions.

In his opening remarks, Strzok defended Mueller's work and emphasized the threat of Russian election interference, clearly referencing the president in saying, "This investigation is not politically motivated, it is not a witch hunt, it is not a hoax".

Strzok is attending the public hearing after he was also subpoenaed last week.
