Death toll in ISIS-claimed Mastung blast rises to 128

Disgraced ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be whisked away by helicopter to the federal capital of Islamabad when he returns Friday to Pakistan's easte

Earlier, Agha Umar Bungalzai, provincial home minister, told AFP that the explosion in Mastung town, near the provincial capital of Quetta, killed Siraj Raisani, who was running for a provincial seat with Balochistan Awami Party (BAP).

Police had earlier said that the attack targeted Raisani's convoy but later changed their statement as video footage of a large tent showing damage from the blast was circulated.

Sharif's son-in-law is now serving his one-year prison sentence on the same charge, which stems from the purchase of luxury apartments in Britain that the court said were bought with illegally acquired money.

Sharif and his daughter are expected to be transported to the garrison city of Rawalpindi, where both will serve their jail term if they don't seek bail.

Barbed wire was strung across some roads leading to the Lahore airport on Friday and barricades were positioned at the roadside ready to close off main boulevards should crowds start to gather.

Officials earlier said at least 40 people had been injured.

Men mourn the death of relatives and party workers, who were killed after a suicide attack during an election campaign meeting, at hospital morgue in Quetta, Pakistan July 13, 2018.

SpaceX will launch the Israeli station on the moon
The rocket will deliver the apparatus to a height of 60 thousand km, and it will be released on elliptical path around the Earth. The collected data will be transmitted to IAI control room for the next two days after the landing.

The explosion comes hours after four people were killed and 39 injured when a bomb hidden inside a motorcycle detonated near Akram Khan Durrani´s convoy in Bannu.

Durrani is contesting the election from NA-35 (Bannu) on a MMA ticket against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Durrani belongs to an alliance of religious groups called Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal, which ruled the province between 2002 and 2008 under him.

Siraj's teenage son, Akmal Raisani, had also been killed in an attack during a football match in the same district in 2011.

Former lawmaker Imran Khan, who hopes to become the next prime minister, condemned Friday's attack against his opponent, Durrani.

In a televised appeal to supporters from London this week, Sharif said he was not afraid of prison and asked people to vote for his party.

"The Pakistani authorities have a duty to protect the rights of all Pakistanis during this election period - their physical security and their ability to express their political views freely, regardless of which party they belong to", said Omar Waraich, deputy South Asia director at Amnesty International.

On July 10, a suicide bomb blast killed Awami National Party leader Haroon Bilour and 19 people in Peshawar's Yaktoot area.
