Trump Tweets 'Very Nice Note' From North Korea's Kim Jong Un

Trump: Kim Will Get 'Rocket Man' CD Later, Plus Surprise 'Little Gift'

Kim gave the directive after his historic summit with U.S. President Donald Trump in Singapore last month, said Choi Sung-yong, head of a group representing families of South Koreans abducted by North Korea, citing an informed source in the North's capital.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the talks would be held in the truce village of Panmunjom after his fraught visit to North Korea last week, although he added the caveat that "it could move by one day or two".

In the letter Kim describes his June 12 summit with Trump in Singapore, and the resulting joint statement agreed by both sides, as the "start of a meaningful journey".

Their meeting - the first between a sitting USA president and North Korea, led to claims that the latter would work towards dumping its nuclear weapons.

Roh Kyu-deok, a spokesman for South Korea's Foreign Ministry, said the South Korean government is "constantly in contact with the USA counterpart" about progress of the talks on war remains repatriation, but declined to comment on any details, saying that all inquiries on the issue be directed to the US authorities.

North Korea has imposed a testing moratorium, with the last missile test occurring on November 28, and it destroyed its main nuclear testing facility, although experts say those moves could be reversed.

The Thursday talk was scheduled to begin in the morning with officials of the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.N. Command Security Battalion and North Korea, Newsis reported.

Texas couple considering divorce to help pay for daughter’s healthcare costs
Their 6-year-old daughter Brighton has Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, a rare chromosomal disorder that requires full-time care. The Greys applied for state assistance but don't expect to get it because of where they fall on the list.

"I deeply appreciate the energetic and extraordinary efforts made by Your Excellency Mr. President for the improvement of relations between the two countries", the letter read, in part.

North Korea has said eight of the 17 - including Megumi Yokota, who disappeared while heading home from school when she was 13 - have already died, while four never entered the country, an account Japan has dismissed as unreliable.

But readers soon pointed out that the letter didn't actually mention any action that had been taken, and only made vague promises about 'the future progress of taking practical actions'.

He was referring the summit statement signed by the two leaders - the first-ever U.S.

The President released the letter in Korean with an English translation.

The letter comes days after the North Korean Foreign Ministry released a statement accusing the USA of "ganster-like" demands and trying to unilaterally pressure the country into abandoning its nuclear weapons.
