Parents of Thai cave rescue boy give thanks to God

Parents are still waiting to be reunited with their sons two days after the last members of a youth football team were extracted from a cave in northern Thailand, as details of the high-risk rescue operation have started to emerge.

After days of mounting speculation, a former Thai Navy SEAL diver broke the silence, revealing the boys were sleeping or partially-conscious as they were passed from diver-to-diver through the cave. "Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us and the boys and helping us; thank you".

The 12 Wild Boars players and their coach had entered the cave to go exploring June 23 but monsoon rains filled the tight passageways, blocking their escape.

Rescue mission chief Narongsak Osottanakorn told a news conference the boys were just being children when they got lost, and no one was to blame.

Thai officials have been generous with their praise of foreign volunteers who were essential in the complicated search and rescue operation, including Mr Volanthen and Mr Stanton who were the first to discover the boys. The footage, released by Thai officials Wednesday, shows eight of the boys sitting up in their hospital beds, clad in hospital gowns and face masks. "My job was to transfer them along".

The boys seem to be going through progressive stages once they reach the hospital.

The saga is reminiscent of the 2010 rescue of 33 Chilean miners who were trapped for 69 days, a tale that was turned into the 2015 movie "The 33" starring Antonio Banderas.

Officer resigns after dispute over Puerto Rican shirt
In an earlier statement, the police said that an investigation had been launched and the officer had been placed on desk duty. But the officer continues to do nothing or even move closer to Irizzary as the man continues to approach her.

The three-day rescue mission kicked off on Sunday (local time) and ended late on Tuesday.

"On behalf of the operation unit, we want to send our condolences to him and I do have to thank him a lot", he said.

At a school opposite the hospital in Chiang Rai where the boys are recovering, schoolchildren were in an excited, celebratory mood.

The team became captured within a cave in Thailand on June 23 and survived for 18 long days before being miraculously rescued by a fearless group of global divers. To swim through the flooded tunnels, which could get as narrow as 15 inches, one diver held the front end of the stretcher, along with the boy's oxygen tank, while another held the rear end of the stretcher. "That won't happen or we'll give them hell", Chu tweeted, adding it's "a handsome story" about human beings saving other human beings.

AT least two Hollywood production companies are looking into putting the dramatic rescue of the "Wild Boars" soccer team on the big screen but social media is abuzz with the potential whitewashing of the proposed film.

"The presence and support of someone who has had a shared experience of an extreme event will help them deal with the "normal" life waiting for them", Dunham explained.

"I refuse to let Hollywood #whitewashout the Thai Cave rescue story!"
