Donald Trump gives May's Brexit plan both barrels

Mr Trump addresses reporters on the White Hosue lawn before he board Air Force One on July 9 in Washington

Amid mass protests against the president's visit, Donald Trump's itinerary features a relatively short stay in London, with a lavish black-tie dinner to be held for him at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on Thursday night.

"I'm going to a pretty hot spot right now, right?"

But despite all the mass protests planned for his visit - the first of which are now taking place outside Winfield House, where the President spent the afternoon - he declared "people like me there".

"There is no stronger alliance than that of our special relationship with the United States and there will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", May said ahead of the visit.

Mr Trump flew to Britain after a somewhat chaotic 28 hours at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels, where he characteristically claimed victory over his demand for the allies to increase their defence spending. "They agree with me on immigration".

Protesters have been inflating a blimp made to look like a baby version of Trump, and are preparing to fly it over Parliament during his visit.

(Picture: AP) The dinner is Trumps' official welcome to the United Kingdom during their first visit since Trump's election. She said they will discuss security and defense, an aspect of the relationship that is causing anxiety for some British politicians.

Earlier on Thursday, Trump said he believes London citizens "like me a lot", despite reports of multiple planned protests against him, including a protest involving a 20-foot-tall inflatable baby bearing his face that was scheduled to be flown during his visit.

Downing Street insisted Mrs May welcomed Mr Trump's decision to "engage" with the Russian leader.

May has had to defend Trump's visit in the face of fiery criticism from opposition lawmakers.

‘Fortnite’ season 5 trailer brings golf carts and temporal rifts
In addition to these new features, "Fortnite" season 5 comes with a number of tweaks and fixes for the battle royale gameplay. Season 5 of the hit game dropped on July 12. "You're in for a wild ride", writes Epic Games in the description of the rifts.

Both of those accords were the result of years of painstaking diplomacy by European leaders - and Trump unilaterally trashed them.

"She is a tremendous woman", Trump said of Elizabeth in an interview Thursday with The Sun tabloid, noting that his Scottish-born mother "loved" the queen.

British law requires any petition supported by more than 100,000 people to be considered for parliamentary debate, even though there was no serious attempt to prohibit Mr. Trump from coming to Britain.

U.S. President Donald Trump's first official visit to the U.K.is off to a contentious start with the President challenging Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit strategy and highlighting her political troubles.

"We are expecting hundreds of thousands of people in London wanting their voices heard because they reject the normalization of a Trump agenda-one that is based around hate and divisiveness", said the Stop Trump Coalition.

Ahead of his arrival the PM said she would use the visit to "forge a strengthened, ambitious and future-proof trade partnership" with the USA after Brexit. "I think that's why Brexit happened".

The trip includes meetings with Prime Minister Theresa May, who has described the U.S. as Britain's strongest ally, and is determined to secure a trade deal after the country acts on Brexit and leaves the European Union in March 2019.

Mr Trump's son Eric has arrived in Scotland for a golfing visit to Trump International Golf Links at Menie, Aberdeenshire, and Trump Turnberry, near Girvan, South Ayrshire.

Mr Trump will then travel to Windsor Castle to meet the Queen before heading to Scotland for the private part of his four-day visit.
