"Wonder Woman 1984" First Photo Reveals Resurrection Of A Main Character

Filming is officially underway for the sequel to Wonder Woman - and we've even gotten our first proper look at wheat's going on (as well as the title of the film). In addition, Jenkins posted a picture of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in full 1980s attire on the set, which has many fans scratching their heads.

And the first pictures have been shared by director Jenkins, with one showing Steve alive and well. She too captions her image "Wonder Woman 1984", presumably referring to the movie's title. After the unremarkable box office of Justice League, which was the last theatrical appearance of Wonder Woman, DC is now in a course correction mode.

Are you excited about Steve Trevor appearing in Wonder Woman 1984? An explanation for his return, given the events of the first film, is still unclear.

The sequel has cast Kristen Wiig to play the villain Cheetah. It shows Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, wearing a sweatsuit and sport shoes, standing inside what definitely looks like a mall. Aside from announcing solo movies for every character in existence, DC has been relatively quiet ever since that film was released.

Gal Gadot, of course, is also returning as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, and the actress also tweeted an image from the film. While that would be an interesting take, Wonder Woman is the superhero here. Is this some kind of resurrected Steve, or a younger relative of Steve Trevor, also named Steve Trevor, or some third option? He returned eight years later in Wonder Woman #233 with new hair and a new name (Steve Howard this time). Be sure to tell us all of your thoughts in the comments down below!
