Sarah Sanders pressed on IG report, family separation at border

Sanders was replying to an earlier CBS News report that both she and deputy press secretary Raj Shah have considered leaving their positions in the administration.

While Sanders didn't explicitly deny the report, she said that CBS didn't speak to her before running the story.

Neither Sanders nor Shah responded to comment from the publication.

Communications director Anthony Scaramucci was sacked last summer after a brief stint at the White House. "I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the goal of order".

Others have departed the White House recently including Hope Hicks, Josh Raffel, Tom Bossert, Michael Anton, John McEntee, Cliff Simms, Steven Cheung, Kaelan Dorr, Natalie Strom, and Tyler Ross. Some positions have never been filled.

Federal Reserve raises interest rates

Well into his second year, Trump has a turnover rate of 51 percent within his top White House cadre, according to an assessment put together by the Brookings Institution.

The Trump administration has a large and rapid turnover of staff within it, particularly at a senior level, causing instability in key roles.

There will be even more people leaving the White House sooner rather than later, laid off or just leaving out of exhaustion.

But reporters including Acosta reminded Sanders that no one was forcing the administration to hold children captive, and that there is in fact no law forcing it to separate them from their parents.
