Judge temporarily blocks deportation of Brooklyn pizza worker

U.S. military base calls immigration police on pizza delivery man

New York's governor is asking for a federal investigation into the conduct of immigration officials after an Ecuadorean pizza shop worker was detained while trying to make a delivery to an Army garrison in Brooklyn.

The reprieve means Villavicencio, who is married to a USA citizen and has two young children, will remain at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in the US until his case is adjudicated.

Attorneys for the Legal Aid Society obtained the temporary stay for Villavicencio after a hearing in Manhattan federal court Saturday. "As a father of three daughters, I can't imagine the fear she and Pablo are feeling right now". He slammed the detainment as an "outrageous affront" to NY values.

"But this time, the guard - whom he identified as African American - asked him for a valid identification document, and since he didn't have one, the soldier called immigration to arrest him", Chica told El Diario.

Elected officials joined Villavicencio's wife and two young daughters for the press conference outside Fort Hamilton on Wednesday, slamming the delivery man's detention.

"The older one, she always asks me why daddy's in the news, and I say, 'Oh, it's because he's doing a good job, '" she said.

Andrew Cuomo is offering free legal aid to the deliveryman who was detained while delivering pizza at a Brooklyn army base this week.

He would have to get a waiver as people who have spent more than a year in the US illegally can't re-enter for a decade.

"I have to lie because for her it's going to be hard to understand why daddy's in jail".

Eunice Gayson, the First Bond Girl, Dies at 90
Connery first uttered the iconic introduction, "Bond, James Bond ", to Gayson's character in that movie, according to the BBC . She also appeared in episodes of 1960 TV series The Avengers and The Saint , which starred future Bond actor Sir Roger Moore.

"They treated me like a criminal".

At that point, the woman said, he signed a waiver for a background check, and 'an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant was discovered on file'.

Villavicencio was granted voluntary departure by an immigration judge in March of 2010 but failed to leave the country by that July.

He's being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a facility in New Jersey.

"He was a tax-payer, contributor to our community entering this base, and now he went from being in this base - that's here to protect us - to prison", Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said. Both politicians said they were seeking answers from Fort Hamilton.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family.

In fact, Copeland claims that in the midst of being detained on June 1, Villavicencio called a high-ranking sergeant at the base for help.

In a letter to the ICE office in New York, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Villavicencio's "expedited removal serves no legitimate public safety objective and the circumstances leading to his arrest and detention raise serious legal and policy concerns".
