National Basketball Association draft lottery: Phoenix Suns get first pick

The Phoenix Suns' most important victory of the year came Tuesday, as the franchise won the 2018 National Basketball Association draft lottery.

The post Cavs' GM Koby Altman speaks on No. 8 overall pick in 2018 Draft appeared first on Cavs Nation. Phoenix had the best odds of landing on top heading into tonight's draft lottery, but there some movement behind them.

"It's a historic day for the franchise", Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said while clutching the No. 1 envelope that the Suns logo appeared from to win the first pick.

The second pick will to the Sacramento Kings, while the Atlanta Hawks will go third in the draft, which takes place on June 21.

As far as the lotto results are concerned, the main takeaways are the Suns are picking No. 1 overall (yawn) and that everyone who isn't Atlanta homer Intern Danny was shocked to learn actress Jami Gertz owns the Hawks. "Now we just gotta sit and see who we want".

Last year, the Suns had the second-best odds of getting the top pick but dropped to No. 4.

De Bruyne doubts Manchester City points record will ever be beaten
Aguero, who has a knee injury, has been given permission to report for worldwide duty early ahead of the World Cup. Silva also expressed his gratitude to long-serving team-mate Yaya Toure, who is leaving City this summer.

Doncic is a potential fit because of the Suns' desperate need for a long-term point guard after trading Eric Bledsoe and the hire of coach Igor Kokoskov.

Whoever the Suns take in next month's draft, he will join a young core group that includes Jackson and Devin Booker.

"I can't compare those two guys because I lived with Luka".

The Orlando Magic will pick sixth, followed by the Chicago Bulls seventh and Cleveland Cavaliers eighth. Since 1966, 10 first overall picks have become NBA MVP award winners and 14 are Hall of Famers, not counting several more who are certain to be inducted once eligible. The Suns search for a big man could be solved with the top pick.

The rest of the draft order has already been determined by worst to best record among playoff teams, with the Washington Wizards holding the No. 15 pick.
