Lenovo Teases An All-Screen Smartphone

Lenovo' VP Chang Cheng confirms the upcoming Z5 smartphone to feature a no bezel display with 95 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Exactly what these will be remains to be seen, especially in regards to how the phone negotiates the placement of its front-facing camera sensors - the reason for the iPhone X's notch. Regardless of how small the notch might be it still isn't an all screen display. The phone features a very thin bezel surrounding its display. Vivo's Apex theory employs a pop up selfie camera to help cut back the bezels, but it nevertheless needs a comparable "chin" to hide the OLED's display control.

As we've watched companies work to shrink the top and bottom bezels, it has forced them to get creative with where they decide to move those sensors, speaker, and camera. Can we expect the "notch" that Apple made infamous with its courageous iPhone X?

The company's vice president, Chang Cheng, took to Weibo with a sketch of the upcoming Lenovo Z5.

First reported by CNET, the image is accompanied by a caption that when translated calls the Z5 as Lenovo's next flagship.

Critical flaw found in email encryption tools
Email users who use PGP (based on OpenPGP) and S/MIME to encrypt and decrypt their communications are at "immediate risk". This new vulnerability allows hackers and attackers the ability to read encrypted HTML emails in plaintext files.

The Lenovo Z5 may just be the best smartphone screen ever created, an innovation to follow which will leave the notch-toting iPhone X and its copycats sorely wanting. According to the report, Lenovo has also released the sketch design of the Lenovo Z5, which also suggests the same design element, as stated earlier.

In another post on Weibo by Cheng about the new device, he asked his audience to guess what the screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone would be.

Vivo at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) revealed the Apex, a concept phone that prides itself in having bezels that are the "thinnest in the industry". The handset does this by hiding the front facing camera within the phone.
