Communal clashes in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra; 02 dead, over 40 injured

At least two persons lost their lives and more than 35, including several police personnel, were seriously injured after violent clashes between two groups in Maharashtra's Aurangabad on Friday night. Internet services were also suspended.

Rioters set fire to around 100 shops and 80 vehicles, the official said, adding that 37 persons have been arrested for rioting and arson since Friday night.

However, the police was able to control the violence.

"Some anti-social elements indulged in setting ablaze shops and vehicles in the locality", Bharambe told the media. The youths from different groups burned some shops and also attacking each other with some pelting stones. "Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed, if group of people are found to be breaking the curfew we will take strict action against them".
